James Rusameekae Fagerlund was born on August 5, 1986 in Bangkok Thailand. He is of mixed Thai-Black heritage.
James began his career as a volleyball player
Prior to flipping his figurative ponytail while carrying the heavist of weights, James began his athletic career as a volleyball player. He stayed commited to fitness, picking up running and weights training. During his introduction on Physical: Asia, he shared how he emerged victorious from celebrity boxing show 10 Fight 10. This reputation led him to gaining a reputation as "Thai King Kong" for his impressive build.
James has appeared on Thai TV series and movies
James gained more popularity across Thailand after appearing in a number of TV series and movies. He played scene-stealing characters in Jenny AM/PM (2022), Frisky Boxer (2023), and Bangkok Blossom (2024). Earlier this 2025, he took part in The Red Envelope, a horror-themed rom-com starring Thai Boys' Love stars Billkin and PP Krit.
James is friends with BLACKPINK's Lisa
James bust through the door upon entering Physical: Asia. Aside from strutting into the arena in Saint Laurent heels, he caught audience's attention for his witty personality and entertaining soundbites. During one of his confessionals, he listed down what his home country had to offer against its competitor South Korea. "They gave us BLACKPINK's Jisoo, but we gave you BLACKPINK's Lisa!" he declared, prompting enthusiastic reactions from fans.
As it turns out, James wasn't just giving Lisa a shoutout as a fan, but as a friend! The athlete is regularly seen attending the pop star's concerts, exchanging pleasantries with her backstage. Last 2024, he was even invited to Lisa's birthday party held in Bangkok. Bestie vibes only!
