Diptyque's 3,000-Peso "Katol" Sparks Buzz Among Filipino Netizens
The luxury perfumer describes it as "the herbarium of herbs."

French fragrance house Diptyque unveiled its Summer 2026 collection on June 2. Titled Summer Water Garden, the seasonal release aims to evoke the atmosphere of France’s Les Jardins des Eaux—a lush landscape of bubbling fountains, cool stone pathways, towering pine trees, and citrus trees in bloom.
The limited-edition range includes the maison’s signature offerings: perfumes, scented candles, body care essentials, and home fragrances. Filipino netizens, however, quickly fixated on one item that seems to resemble a familiar household staple: the “katol.”

Needless to day, many online users were surprised to see the typically inexpensive mosquito repellent with a luxury price tag. “Eau de Kateaulle,” one Facebook user jokingly remarked.

About Diptyque's Citronelle Incense
On the Diptyque website, the product in question is listed at €45, or approximately P3,198. Each purchase of the “scented spirals” includes six coils accompanied by a gold oval incense holder. Every spiral weighs 12 grams and measures roughly 2x3 inches, or roughly the size of a credit card.
The brand describes the item as: “Light wisps of lemongrass escape into the air. From dusk forward, the spiral releases relaxing notes recalling the peaceful air of a water garden.”

Much like a "katol," Diptyque's Citronelle features an aromatic profile of citronella and lemongrass. It is formulated to release relaxing, outdoor-friendly notes reminiscent of a sunlit water garden. “Its fresh, herbaceous scent creates an outdoor oasis,” the label wrote on its website.
As a separate accessory, Diptyque is also selling an “incense holder." Priced at €140 (around P9,941), the circular case is crafted from porcelain by artisans in Portugal.
