Jenna Ortega has been the talk of the town lately following the success of the Netflix series Wednesday, where the 20-year-old actress portrayed the titular role of the iconic Wednesday Addams. The Tim Burton-directed series was such a hit that it broke Netflix’s record for the most-viewed English-language show in a week!
The good news doesn’t stop there, though! As you might already know, Jenna has also been receiving massive appreciation from viewers around the world. In fact, she even gained over 10 million Instagram followers in just 10 days since the horror-comedy’s premiere.
From having 9.4 million followers on November 23, which was also when Wednesday started streaming, the actress crossed the 20 million mark on December 4. Wow!
With the show’s massive success, everyone’s asking the same question: Will there be a second season? While the streaming giant hasn’t given a go-signal yet, Wednesday’s co-creator Miles Millar says that they have four seasons’ worth of storylines for their characters.
“[We] always lay out at least three or four seasons’ worth of potential storylines for the characters,” he tells Variety. “For us, it's always looking at the future, and when we sit down to create a show, it’s looking at multiple seasons, ideally. That’s never expected, but that’s the anticipation that hopefully, the show is successful. We certainly have a pretty clear runway of what we want to do in future seasons.”
