The word "aging" has been instilling fear among women for the longest time. Studies found that the anxiety linked to it is closely related to fears of the deterioration of health, attractiveness, and social value.

The new generations have been trying to unlearn this, correcting terms like “anti-aging” into “well-aging.” There is beauty in getting older, and celebrity sisters Dani and Claudia Barretto seem to agree.

Dani revealed that her younger sister Claudia was “the most requested guest” for her show, The Bare It All Podcast. Less than a month ago, the request was finally granted.

The sisters talked about their precious memories of growing up together, and the peaceful yet thrilling anticipation of what’s to come. Dani and Claudia recalled sharing one room with their siblings, Julia and Leon (years before the youngest, Erich, was born), and now they’re both married—Dani to Xavi Panlilio, and Claudia to Basti Lorenzo.

With that said, they recognized that they have both grown and endured so much to get to where they are.

“I really like who I’ve become,” Claudia shared. “And I’ve become a lot more comfortable in myself, I think, the older that I get.” The sisters agreed that, while “people are so afraid of aging and getting older,” they both love and embrace it.

Claudia emphasized, “I just like myself more and more.”

To this, Dani agreed, who tells herself, “You’ve done a lot of things you thought you could never do. You underestimated yourself way too much, but you’re going to make it,” whenever she looks back.

According to Claudia, this mindset applies beyond the goals that an individual aims to achieve. Rather, it is also applicable to “the things that you didn’t think you’d survive,” adding that getting older helps build confidence, as long as you don’t let your past struggles “ruin” you.

She acknowledged, “It’s easy to go down the wrong path when you’ve been hurt so much. Sometimes you want to inflict pain, but if you can come out of it and become better, it actually is so fulfilling.”

When asked by Dani to share advice for those facing the challenges of adulting, which Claudia is currently in the thick of, the latter said, “It seems so daunting, but you actually figure it out as you go.”

Claudia concluded by saying that getting older “helps you grow more in love with yourself, because you discover the kind of person you want to be.”
