If you’re driving through EDSA this week, make sure to keep your eyes on the road, because the newest billboard installed on the highway is a definite head-turner. Literally.
Satire page and social media personality Senyora has been causing quite the stir online as of late, thanks to her much-awaited outdoor ad with cosmetics brand Brilliant Skin Essentials. The only catch? It’s completely upside down!
Senyora, who inked the ad deal with Brilliant last August, took to her Facebook page to express her outrage over the mishap.
“WALANG GOOD MORNING!!!! TOTOO NGA ANG CHISMIS KAGABI!!! SABOTAGEEE!!! ANG AGA KO GUMISING KANINA PARA DAANAN YAN!! Binago nga yung billboard, dinogshow mo naman! [Bakit] nakatiwarik yan!?” she wrote, while tagging the brand’s CEO Glenda Victorio, better known as Miss Glenda on the internet. “May inggit ka ba talaga sakin? Simula ngayon wag mo na ako matawag-tawag na kumare Miss Glenda hanggat di binabaliktad yan. Sabotahera!!!”
With over 600,000 reactions on Facebook, Senyora’s rant also caught the eye of amused Filipinos who couldn’t help but get in on the hilarious issue.
Most of them took the liberty of “correcting” the billboard for the angered personality by turning their phones around.
One commenter even brought up the potential danger Senyora’s billboard might bring.
Meanwhile, other netizens simply made light of the issue along with Senyora and Glenda’s friendly internet rivalry.
Prior to her online outburst, Glenda had already posted about the upside down billboard, stating that it was her way of getting back at the personality for her unpleasant “attitude.”
“Diba sabi ko naman sa'yo basta billboard ni Brilliant siguradong pinaghandaan. Nakakahiya naman kasi sa'yo pero masyado ka [nang] attitude, atat na atat,” captioned the CEO. “Pero love kita ha!”
If you follow the two on social media, then you’ll know that their constant public bantering isn’t anything new. This could explain the fact that the entire billboard fiasco might be intentional, after all.
On the day it was put up, Brilliant proudly posted snaps of the upside down billboard on their official Twitter page. “Have you seen the newest brilliant billboard? Share it with us!” read their tweet.
If our guess is right, then that’s definitely one massive PR stunt for the ad books.
