Congratulations are in order for Miss Palawan Angelica Lopez, who has just bagged the title of Binibining Pilipinas-International 2023!
The beauty queen was among the 40 candidates who participated in the previous weeks' competitions and activities, leading to the coronation night at Smart Araneta Coliseum on May 28, 2023. The show was hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, Miss Grand International 2016 1st Runner-Up Nicole Cordoves, and Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa.
Answering the question, "What makes you a binibini who walks the talk and who is beyond mere self-promotion?", the beauty responded:
"I stand here tonight because it is my mother that instilled me the values and the morals that I’m using to be the woman that I am now today. A woman who has the strength, courage, and tenacity. The strength to decide for herself what she wants really works hard to achieve it."
She continued: "To also have the courage to face any obstacles of life and tenacity to hold on to her wisdom of choice. And I believe that it’s always a dream come true to be here and that is why I am a binibini that I'm always meant to be."
The 59th edition of the pageant also crowned Miss Bataan Anna Valencia Lakrini as Binibining Pilipinas Globe. Here’s the full list of winners tonight:
