Before the summer starts, you're probably working hard on getting the best bikini bod. Dieting and regular gym sessions are already worked into your routine to take off inches from your waist and to tone your limbs. And while you do your best to stick to your fitness resolution, you slip up and eventually hate yourself for every pound you gain.
Fitness blogger Joanne Encarnacion understands and accepts all your struggles. But in her remarkable Instagram post, she shares two photos of herself side by side taken a year apart. At a glance, you may think she made a mistake, but the dates are actually correct. Next to her October 2016 photo, her March 2017 body looked "less fit."
In essence of the said post, Joanne underlines the fact that she loves her body no matter how it looks like. She captions her photo with touching words, reminding herself that she isn't a failure for not eating as clean as she should have or for not sticking to her training. She then goes on saying that "It doesn't make you less of an example of a strong woman."
Most importantly, Joanne notes, "Living a healthy life means nourishing all the areas that make you whole,” and she prompts that “fitness is just a part of that. Other areas in your life needed your energy more than you needed to focus on leaning out."
She ended her post with words of wisdom we should all learn to live by. "The power to define what beauty means to you is within you. You are the source of your reality."
Cheers to that, Joanne!
