Arci Muñoz is proof that it's never too late to pursue new dreams. In 2020, she enlisted to become a reservist for the Philippine Air Force. Now, two years later, she's officially in training to become a pilot!
On July 16, Arci posted a video from her first day at aviation training. In the caption, she shared a quote by the popular American pilot, Amelia Earheart.
The quote reads, "Everyone has ocean's to fly, if they have the heart to do it. Is it reckless? Maybe. But what do dreams know of boundaries?"
After doing what appears to be a flight simulation session, Arci had a chance to co-pilot a real plane. She's taking a course at Topflite Academy, an aviation school based in Bicol International Airport.
Celebrating her new journey, Arci wrote, "Be a woman who rise above the ground breaking norms reach for yer dreams! and be whoever you wanna be cos sky is ze limit!!
"Feeling enthusiastic about my #pilot journey! Thank you for spreading my wings!"
Arci is most likely pursuing a course to receive a private pilot license. Topflite Academy's official website says that this covers flight basics, proper radio phraseology, proper flying techniques, among others.
In order to procure a license, students must be at least 16 years old with basic proficiency in English, and have a class II medical certificate. They will then have to undergo at least 40 hours of flight time and pass a knowledge and practical test.
