Andrea Brillantes, 16, is only a few days away from achieving one of her major goals: to build a house for her family!
On Sunday, August 30, 2020, the ABS-CBN star gave her Instagram followers an update on its construction.
On August 20, uploading a photo of her dog Oreo by the stairs, she gave a sneak peek of what's inside her three-floor abode.
During her interview with Magandang Buhay hosts Jolina Magdangal and Melai Cantiveros last December 2010, Andrea said this goal is technically nine years in the making. "Dati pa lang po nung nag-e-extra-extra pa ako, pangarap ko na talagang magka-bahay," she shared. "Wala din po kasi talaga kaming sariling bahay po. Lagi lang po kaming nagre-rent."
The teen actress and her family are currently renting a small house while waiting for the construction of their house to finish. Andrea said, "Mas cheap siya para mas makapag-ipon ako para sa bahay na pinapagawa ko."
Andrea started her showbiz career at the age of four, and became more visible on television at the age of seven.
In her vlog for The Gold Squad YouTube channel, Andrea revealed that her hit Kapamilya afternoon drama series, Kadenang Ginto, helped her buy the property.
She said, "Gusto ko talaga yung subdivision na ito kaso dati, wala pa akong cha-ching [money] at wala pa akong show. So sabi ko, wag na. Pero nung nagkaroon ng 'Kadenang Ginto', naisip ko, baka naman kaya."
The construction began in September 2019. The house has three floors and six rooms. Her grandmother, Susan Brillantes, will have her own room on the first floor; her mom, Mabel Gorostiza, and her siblings—Kayla, Nina, and Kismet—will all have their own rooms.
The whole third floor is reserved for Andrea. She said, "Kasi yun po talaga yung dream ko yung parang attic [na room]."
