If you've been dreaming of the perfect tan—you know, the kind that just makes you glow as if you've been frolicking under the sun on a beach somewhere—but are too busy with life, then let Spray become your new beauty best friend.
Friends and business partners Catalina Varona, Jessica Maxwell, Fabienne Aboitiz, and Nicole Coromina have come together in the name of beautifully bronzed skin to bring the first ever spray tanning salon in the Philippines. (Don't worry, it's not like the one Ross went to in Friends!) They use top-of-the-line tanning booths with trained experts guiding you so you won't end up looking like a cast member of the Willy Wonka movie.
Preview caught up with one of the owners, Jessica, as she shares why they brought this beauty treat in the country and what you're getting when you step in their salon. "We realized there were no options in Manila for those like us who wanted a healthy, glowing tan. This was a project that's been in the works for a long time but we really felt like this was the perfect time to launch because people, now more than ever, are investing and really paying attention to their beauty and wellness. And we deliver a quick and consistent tan, without tan lines, any time of the year, without the harmful effects of the sun."
How does it work?
Basically, when you get to the salon, they'll ask you to "choose your tan." There are three options: Light, Medium, and Dark. The base is priced at P2000. Then, you have your add-ons: the Accelerator (P300) which helps you develop your tan after three to four hours, so the color will gradually show up on your skin quicker than without it, and will maintain the color even after you've showered, and then the Bronzer (P100), which will instantly make your tan show up. But this will fade after one shower and then you're left with the original tan. They recommend this for a night out! You can also choose a scent! They have Sport, Warm Vanilla, Fresh, and Coconut Lime. After you've decided on everything, a tanning assistant will escort you to a room and instruct some prep before you can step into their individual tanning booths.

How long does it last?
According to Jessica, the faux tan can last up to a week. "A tan generally can last up to five to seven days, depending on how well you care for it," she explains. They advise clients to be generous with the moisturizer and lotion for aftercare to avoid fading but they also carry specific products for maintaning your beloved tan. "You can use the Norvell moisturizer for a healthy glowing tan that lasts longer and Norvell face to touch up the face which usually fades sooner."
As for any tips for anyone getting their first tan, here's what Jessica has to say: "Start with Light; the Accelerator is great in deepening as well as speeding up the tanning process, apply blending cream thicker on nails and palms, and a thin quantity on top of hands and feet, and knees and elbows too." The salon also advises clients to wear loose clothing and wear minimal to no makeup.
