How to Do Sofia Andres’ Blush Trick, According to Her Makeup Artist The quickest way to cute!

There’s something to be said about the way color brings life to your face, and Sofia Andres is a prime example of why every day should be blush day. Call it the glow of being a new mom, perhaps, but the generous dose of peach on her cheeks has us smitten.

Eager to mimic that sun-kissed warmth ourselves, we rang up Sofia’s go-to makeup artist Effie Iñigo for a quick tutorial. She tells us “Blush is one of those products that can instantly change your face. It enhances the skin, cancels out dullness, and creates the illusion of health and vitality.” These days, if there’s one color cosmetic you shouldn’t skip, this is it.

Now as we’ve all learned, selecting your shade is just half the process, the way you put it on your cheeks is equally important. Effie explains that Sofia applies blush right below her eyes and over her nose, concentrating the color on the apples of the cheeks and the bridge of the nose. “Extending your flush from cheek to cheek through the bridge of your nose mimics the way your skin naturally flushes.” This is why the young actress’ cheek color looks so flattering on her face.

Here are Effie’s three tips to help us all achieve the same look, and note that it’s the best lazy girl blush routine you’ll find!

1. First, wash your face and apply moisturizer.

“You definitely want to bank on plump and smooth-looking skin to start off,” says Effie who emphasizes how important it is to cleanse and moisturize before doing any makeup look. “This gives your skin a youthful glow, even before makeup.”

2. Use a cream blush or two

While it’s possible to use a powder or tint, Effie recommends using a cream blush because they tend to be easier to maneuver compared to other formulations. Apply your chosen base blush—whether red, peach, or pink—with a beauty sponge or even just your fingers. “When you’re satisfied, take a darker bronze shade and apply it only around your nose area,” Effie instructs, explaining this is a great way to add dimension and change up your blush game once in a while.

3. Spritz on a spray mist to get that dewy effect.

Sofia definitely has a glow about her, and misting on a bit of moisture as a final step will help you recreate that radiance.

Now if you’re looking to cop her colors exactly, Sofia endorses and regularly uses the face blushes of local cosmetics brand KJM, particularly in the shades Flowerbomb and Sorbet. The indie label prides itself in providing colors to “match every Pinay’s colors and needs when it comes to makeup.”
