In K-pop, entering a new musical era means often means debuting a new look. Changing up makeup styles or dyeing hair a fresh color signals the arrival of a new concept, setting the tone for upcoming songs. However, BLACKPINK has always done things differently.

The girl group—composed of Lisa, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo—has maintained its signature looks over the years. In particular, Rosé has stayed committed to her bleached tresses, going above and beyond to keep them in pristine condition and the perfect shade.

BLACKPINK's Rosé Bleaches and Dyes Her Hair Every Two Weeks

In a recent podcast episode of On Chair by Workers’ High, Cha Jong Hyun—also known as ChaCha—opened up about his journey and experiences as BLACKPINK’s hairstylist. He shared, “Rosé has maintained her blonde hair for about seven years. She dyes it once every two weeks.”

Concerned about the artist's hair and scalp health, ChaCha suggested lengthening the intervals between touch-ups. Rosé, however, insisted on keeping the schedule to maintain her look for their supporters.

This commitment means ChaCha flies to whichever part of the world she’s in when her hair is due for a retouch. “There is no choice but to go,” he said. “I take a same-day business trip.”

ChaCha added that his flights sometimes take longer than his stay with Rosé. Typically, he arrives in the morning, reaches her hotel by noon, takes a short lunch break, and then begins bleaching and dyeing her hair. The session itself lasts around three to four hours. Afterward, ChaCha freshens up at his hotel and heads back to the airport by evening.

He candidly described the unavoidable physical toll that comes with the job, saying, “It is exhausting.” Because of the demanding setup and frequent long-haul flights, he developed issues with his pelvis and tailbone.

He shared this with the 29-year-old artist, who then began booking him business class tickets for a more comfortable travel experience. “It shows how much she cares about me. That made me work even harder.”
