There are instances where skipping foundation undeniably seems like a good idea. Running late, being drenched in sweat, needing a skin reset, and the list goes on. For many, however, applying makeup makes them feel more ready to face the day. It’s a therapeutic slow-down too, so it’s understandably difficult to compromise. Thankfully, there’s one (often overlooked) product that can stand in place of a foundation, taking the lightweight no-makeup makeup look to the next level.
What You Need to Know About Peach Color Correctors
Color correcting is usually viewed as an optional step, but once you unlock its capabilities, you’ll no longer go a day without it. Peach color correctors, in particular, neutralize blue and purple tones. They help you get the most out of your foundation or your concealer’s performance, being designed to cancel out stubborn darkness, such as that found in under-eye circles, age spots, hyperpigmentation, and the like. Its tint also brings warmth to the skin, lending a hand in avoiding a gray or ashy look (because nobody wants that).
With peach color correctors effectively evening out the skin tone, they’re often enough for you to skip foundations on days you don’t feel like going heavy! The key to achieving this is through strategic application.
Nate Javier’s Guide to Applying Peach Color Corrector
“What I mean when I say I don’t wear foundation,” Filipino beauty guru Nate Javier wrote, pertaining to a video of him using a color corrector. The result is a smooth and naturally radiant complexion that’s the perfect no-makeup makeup base!
Want to see for yourself? Here’s how you can achieve the same look.
Take a peach color corrector that’s close to your skintone.
Apply it under your eyes, all over your eyelids, and on your dark spots if any.
Gently blend away.
Next, take a peach color corrector in a lighter shade.
Since it will be used for brightening up the face, apply it on shadowed areas that you’d usually want to highlight. This includes the area under your eyes, the bridge, tip, and around your nose, and the edges of your bottom lip.
Gently blend away, too. You can cap off the look with your blush of choice to look even more lively and awake.
