How many steps do you have in your beauty regimen?

The insane reach that the internet has is a great tool for the beauty-obsessed. Because imagine, how else would we have learned of the Koreans' 10-step skin care routine and the French girls' "no tap water" rule if everything wasn't one click away? These country-specific techniques have even become trends, which got us thinking: how about Filipinas? What are our skin care routines like?

That said, with the help of an online survey, 400 women looped us in on their nighttime beauty regimens. We asked exactly how many products they use prior to hitting the sack and, of course, their picks for healthy skin. Scroll through our juicy findings below!

Question #1: How many products do you have in your nightly skin care routine?

Over 80% revealed that many women use no more than six products before they go to bed. The majority (22%) said that they use only four products, closely followed by those who answered three (19.3%). Five to six-step skin care routines are less common, but they comprised 25% of the answers when lumped together.

Also, do note that around 75% of the participants are aged 19 to 30, meaning this result probably reflects the preferences of this age group more!

Question #2: What are the products you have in your nightly skin care routine?

When it comes to their must-haves, facial wash (90.3%), moisturizer (74.3%), toner (73%), and makeup remover (51%) came out on top as nightly essentials, while eye cream (32.5%) and serums (28.7%) fell not too far behind. Honorable mentions are face oils (15.7%) and the others (15.7%) category, in which spot treatments like tea tree oil, benzoyl peroxide, and dark spot correctors were frequently mentioned.

Question #3: What products do you use only a few times a week?

Although the women we asked seemed to prefer shorter regimens, we found that they treated themselves with extra steps, too. Several times a week, most of them like using sheet masks (53.3%), exfoliants or facial scrubs (52.3%), and wash-off masks (27.9%) to treat their skin.

From these results, we can definitely tell that Filipinas still prefer their nighttime regimens short and sweet. They consider cleansing, toning, and moisturizing as their top priorities, but are aware of the importance of exfoliation throughout the week. The love for serums and eye creams seems apparent, too, and an essential K-beauty step like the essence is far from common. Phew!
