A signature scent reflects its wearer’s mood, style, and personality, often serving as a person’s quiet introduction. It’s an invisible finishing touch that can say a lot without saying a word.
For men, finding a signature scent is much like finding the right tailored suit—it should feel personal and natural, almost like a second skin. With this mind, Preview asked male personalities to reveal the fragrances they reach for and what they look for in a scent.
What’s Your Signature Scent?
YSL MYSLF Eau de Toilette Intense
“My signature is the new YSL MYSLF Eau de Toilette Intense. It has bright bergamot, then that orange blossom the whole line is built on, settling into clean woods. Lighter scents are my go-to, which is exactly why it works. Even when I’m under set lights or the sun for hours, it never gets heavy.”

Byredo Vanille Antique
“It’s hard to pick a signature scent because I have different fragrances on rotation, but if I were to pick today, it would have to be Byredo Vanille Antique. I’m a big fan of contrasts, so the sweet vanilla mixed with a dry, woody quality underneath feels smoky and almost slightly boozy rather than sugary. I don’t wear it every day, but when I do, I become so confident.”

Chanel Bleu de Chanel
“My go-to scent for the past five years has been Bleu de Chanel. I can talk about how light yet rich the scent is and how long it stays throughout the day, but it’s honestly just because someone I was courting at that time complimented me, saying it’s the best male scent she’s smelled.”

Ralph Lauren Polo 67, Maison Margiela Replica Lazy Sunday Morning, and Xerjoff Layla
“I love fragrances, and [there are] just too many for me to pick a signature fragrance. I could go from Ralph Lauren Polo 67, to Maison Margiela Replica Lazy Sunday Morning, to Xerjoff Layla. My signature is ever-changing, depending on what’s happening in my life.”

Guerlain Arsène Lupin Voyou
“I’ve been wearing Guerlain Arsène Lupin Voyou since 2010, so at this point, it almost feels like my signature. I like it because it has character without announcing itself too much. I feel it’s a reflection of my own personality.”

According to Guerlain's website, Arsène Lupin Voyou is now named Épices Volées.

Loewe Solo Mercurio and Henry Jacques No.11 De Sacha
“I don’t really have just one signature scent. I tend to match my fragrances to my mood and the season. Lately, I’ve been reaching for Loewe Solo Mercurio by day. It's citrusy and slightly sweet, but still has depth. I feel fun and fresh wearing this. It sets an optimistic mood for the day.
“At night, the Henry Jacques No.11 De Sacha is very sexy, but at the same time, unique and scarce.”

Miller Harris La Feuille
“My favorite right now is Miller Harris La Feuille. I really like fresh, green scents that aren’t too overpowering. This one is a bit earthy, which I love. It just smells very natural and fresh, and it’s something I can wear every day [from day to night].”
