We're sure you've already heard about "glass skin." But as it turns out, celebrities are also trying to make glass hair happen—and this time, there's no need for a rigorous 10-step routine.
According to a trend report by Refinery29, glass hair is a sharply cut bob that appears ultra smooth and polished—much like glass itself. It's said to have been popularized in the '60s by iconic hairstylist Vidal Sassoon, also known in the industry as the master of the geometric bob look. "He was achieving immense levels of shine on short geometric cuts. Now, videos have began to go viral and hairstylists started picking up on the trend," explains celebrity hairstylist Cash Lawless.
Hollywood stars like Kim Kardashian, Jenna Dewan, Olivia Culpo, and Hailey Baldwin are in on the look, trading in their long locks for a sharp and shiny 'do. See how gorgeous it looks on them below!
We've spotted Filipina celebs sporting glass hair, too, and many of them have actually done it long before it became a Hollywood trend! For example, Anne Curtis sported a bob last year up until recently, while Pia Wurtzbach and Ylona Garcia both wore it to Star Magic Ball 2017.

Even Liza Soberano rocked a faux bob to an awards show!
To give your own locks this glassy look, we asked celebrity hairsylist Mycke Arcano for tips on how to do it. According to him, the simplest way is to work a shine mist or shine serum all over your strands to achieve a lustrous effect.

For heat styling, Mycke recommends tools made with tourmaline and jade ceramic plates, as these materials can concentrate enough heat on your hair to give it a natural sheen.

But if you're looking for a more effortless shine, we say make hair masking a habit!
