Your newest peg for the "expensive brunette" trend.

If 2022 had red hair, then this year has “expensive brunette,”  a rich and lustrous dye job refined with glossy highlights. Although we’re still big fans of the crimson bold look until now, we also admit that maintaining the color can be a hassle for beauty enthusiasts and hair dye first-timers alike.

That said, we’re happy to report that the biggest hair trend this year is a subtle kind of brown that’s a lot easier to maintain. The latest Filipina it girl to jump on the trend is none other than Francine Diaz, who recently took to Instagram to debut her new mahogany tresses. See her new look below!

Francine’s new look was the work of Alex Carbonell, the creative director of Studio Fix by Alex Carbonell. In a separate Instagram post, the hairstylist described Francine’s hair color as a soft bronze named “Oolong Milk Tea Copper Mahogany.” He also added a hair gloss in a blush hue to add further depth and dimension to Francine’s new hairdo.

In addition to dyeing her hair, Alex also gave Francine the prettiest butterfly haircut with face-framing layers and long curtain bangs. The fresh snip definitely brought out multi-toned browns of Francine’s dye job!

If you want to take a page out of Francine’s expensive-looking brunette hair, it’s best to grow out your locks first so you can stay as close as possible to your natural hair color. Once you find a dark brown hue that complements your complexion the best, ask your hairstylist to accentuate the natural hue with balayage highlights or a hair gloss treatment.

The best part: Your hair will likely stay healthy as this color won’t involve any bleaching at all! Like Francine, you can simply team the dye job with a haircut to highlight the body of your tresses.

Your new hair really suits you, Francine!
