What makes the perfect wedding fragrance?

Weddings may be huge on the visuals, but not everything brides-to-be prepare are visible to the naked eye. For some, the search for the perfect fragrance for the occasion is almost as crucial as finding their bridal shoes—it is the scent you'll remember for the rest of your life, after all.

After yielding the most interesting wedding perfume picks from celebrities, we got a little greedy and wanted to have more options to share. With that, we reached out to some of the brides we know IRL to find out which scent made their walk down the aisle extra special.

1. Chloé Eau de Parfum

"Since our wedding and reception venue didn’t have air conditioning, I needed a light scent that had major staying power, too. I chose my tried and tested bottle of Chloé EDP for my wedding day because out of all the perfumes I own, this one works the best with my body chemistry and doesn’t get too overpowering when my skin gets warm. Plus, I love how the perfume smells feminine without being too floral or sweet."—Janey Aniban-Rivera

2. Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche

"I wore Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche as my bridal perfume. If I'm to be completely honest, I chose it because it looked good on the flatlay—we had a greenery theme so the bottle fit right in! But it also has this fresh citrusy scent with floral notes, which I loved. I still occasionally wear it, and whenever I do, I'm reminded of the day I walked down the aisle and I don't regret having chosen it as my wedding fragrance."—Marj Ramos-Clemente

3. Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540

"I've been an avid follower of perfume YouTubers and MFK always tops the list when it comes to wedding perfumes. Since the brand is quite pricey, my wedding gave me an excuse to finally buy a bottle."—Celine Javellana

4. Chloé See by Chloé & Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile

"I wore See by Chloé EDP to my church wedding in the afternoon. I wanted a happy scent and for me, this was the one. It has juicy apple blossom accord fused with playful florals that dried down to seductive musks. When I changed into my reception dress, I spritzed on Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile Eau de Parfum. This was a fresh and pleasant fragrance that reminded me of a garden filled with roses and peonies. I especially appreciate the the powder cedar base on the drydown. I think this scent is both subtle and mysterious."—Nikki Santiago-Rivera

5. Penhaligon's Elisabethan Rose

"I wore Penhaligon’s Elisabethan Rose on my wedding day. I wanted something distinctly me and something elegant enough to fit the occasion, and this was the perfect choice. It was important for me to use something that smells good from first spray to dry down even eight hours later, and this was my tried and tested answer.

"It's an impressively gratifying modern rose. It's like candied rose—youthful but not juvenile—with hazelnut leaves, almond oil, and cinnamon as top notes. At heart is where you’ll smell the roses in the form of the rich and sweet rose absolute and delicious rose centifolia with red lily, adding to its regal appeal. The dry down puts the perfect balance and longevity with musk, wood, and vetiver.

The projection of this scent is perfect for long affairs like weddings; it lasts long and leaves such a gorgeous trail. It is incomparable to anything else I’ve tried. My husband also loves this fragrance on me, which made this an even better choice."—Nicole Limos-Morales

"I'm actually not the biggest fan of floral scents because I find them too "adult" for my personality, but the cherry blossom cologne smells lighter and fresher compared to the usual. I typically prefer either woody or fruity fragrances, but I think I went with this on my wedding day because I wanted to feel different and more romantic (it worked lol)."—Ysabel Yuzon

7. Chanel Chance Eau Tendre

"What I love about this perfume is its fresh and floral scent is just sooo right for me. The notes of vanilla are a plus factor! I opted to wear this perfume on my big day because it's not too strong or overpowering. Also, I considered its scent longevity, to lessen my worries on retouching (respray) since I knew this would be a very long day for me."—Sharmaine Valerio

8. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue

"I wore Dolce & Gabbana in Light Blue on my wedding day. I got married on a fine sunny day in an outdoor affair by the lush mountainside in Bataan, and the sparkly yet summery notes beautifully complemented the imagery. I am a fan of timeless yet fresh scents, and the D&G perfume evoked an allure that is feminine yet effortless—something I always try to achieve in my personal style. Basically, I just wanted something classic yet light and easy to wear!"—Sam Beltran Tating
