There's a saying that it takes 17 muscles to smile and 43 to frown. Although science hasn't backed up this claim yet, it just tells us that our faces work harder when we're on a grump mood. When we feel frustration or disgust, the muscles on the forehead, cheeks, and mouth move or contract as a reaction. These repeated movements cause wrinkles to form on our faces.
But of course, we are aware that feeling and expressing negative emotions is normal. We can, however, help prevent the "frown lines" from prematurely appearing. Wishtrend shared a quick self-massage tutorial on how we can prevent fine lines on the forehead. Labeled as "forehead yoga," the technique helps relax the muscles and improve blood circulation. The effect: A lifted, wrinkle-free forehead. Do this technique every night—along with an effective anti-aging skincare product like retinol—for faster results.
(Ed's note: Wash your hands and face before proceeding with the massage.)
