There are many beauty treatments out there that can help us achieve longer looking eyelashes. From serums to lash conditioners, mascaras to eyelash extensions, anything is possible! But as a college student, it can be tough to balance studies while looking fresh after pulling an all-nighter. As much as I would like to pamper myself with a lash lift treatment, it can often take time, especially with my busy schedule.
Luckily, I heard about this viral DIY lash lift perm kit and decided to test it out myself. At first, I was skeptical because I could only find the kit in Shopee or Lazada. I'm more used to buying from my go-to brands and stores and experimenting with a new product was really a first for me.
There were many products to choose from, but I decided to go with the eyelash perming kit from the brand Ibcccndc. I did a bit of research on Google before getting this, and I also checked reviews on Shopee and ones by YouTube vloggers. Feedback on it was mostly positive, so I figured there's no harm in trying it out especially since it's quite affordable.
What It Is: Ibcccndc Eyelash Lifting Kit
The eyelash perm kit promises to lift your lashes for up to two to three months and is said to be suitable for about 15 to 20 people. (Note: The latter to me sounds untrue because I can only estimate between six to 10 individuals using this just by looking at the small amount of liquid solution.) The kit includes four solutions for perming, fixing, nourishing, and cleansing the lashes plus a false lash glue. It also comes with lift pads and a cleaning tool.
How I Used It
I initially started by cleaning off the oil, dust, or other makeup residue on my eyes using a cotton swab. And then, I placed each of the eye pads on my upper eyelid to choose the correct size. This will protect the skin from the perming lotion! (Note: The photos below are of me trying the kit on my sister after I did it on myself!)
Once I had chosen my pad, I added eyelash glue on both sides to keep it attached to my upper eyelid. Then, I immediately took a toothpick and lifted the lashes into place.
Next, it was time to use the four mini bottles of solution. The first thing I had to apply was the perm lotion, followed by the fixation lotion and the nutrition lotion. Note that there must be a 10-12-minute resting period after each application. I would also recommend fanning your eyes while resting because the solution stings a little. Finally, I used the cleanser to remove all perm residue and let it sit for a while so it would dry up.
Here's how my lashes looked before and after the DIY lash lift:
I honestly wasn't so proud of the result. It was only after looking at my before and after photos that I actually saw a difference, but there was barely any. I do admit that I made mistakes in the process that could've contributed to this, such as failing to cover my eyelashes with a plastic film. That said, it really wasn’t working for me since my lashes are short. Also, the product says it would last for about three months, but my lash perm only lasted for a week.
Overall, I think this isn't for me because my eyelashes are too thin. But, I would still recommend using this DIY lash lift perming kit for people with fuller lashes or anyone searching for a cheaper alternative to an actual lash lift.
