It’s time to rebel against standards.

Born to Stand Out (BTSO) has officially landed in Manila. The Korean niche fragrance house—which describes itself as “a cult house that captures rebellion, art, and radical emotion”—opened its first boutique in the Philippines on September 10, 2026. Founder and creative director Jun Lim was in Manila to celebrate the milestone and mark BTSO’s arrival in the country.

About Born to Stand Out

BTSO, often stylized as BORNTOSTANDOUT®, challenges convention through scent, often posing the question, “Who decided what normal even means?”

Across its global presence in 65 countries, the brand is instantly recognizable for its vivid, unmissable red, juxtaposed against white fragrance bottles reminiscent of porcelain vessels from Korea’s Joseon era. The signature palette draws from the country’s cultural history: red represents taboo and transgression, while white signifies purity and order. BTSO positions itself somewhere in between, resisting convention and embracing the tension between the two.

Visit a BTSO boutique and you’ll also encounter figures of cats, rats, and other animals rendered in the same eye-catching shade of red. Equally provocative are the fragrances lining its shelves, with names ranging from Angels’ Powder to Fig Porn.

Founded in 2022, the niche fragrance house has built its identity around individuality and self-expression, guided by the belief that “there is no right way to live” other than by being yourself.

In the Philippines, the BTSO scent universe can be explored through two distinct fragrance lines: Eau de Parfum and Eau Intimité.

Eau de Parfum

The perfumes in BTSO’s Eau de Parfum collection boast fragrance concentrations of 30 to 40 percent, resulting in scents designed to be bold, distinctive, and long-lasting. The range includes the Dirty & Sticky and Dark & Drunk lines, both considered core collections of the brand.

50ml bottles retail for P14,350, while 100ml bottles retail for P20,000.

Eau Intimité

For those not quite ready to take the full plunge into BTSO’s wild side, there’s the Eau Intimité collection, where the brand’s rebellious spirit comes wrapped in a softer veil. Intimate and minimal, these scents wear close to the skin, making them light enough for layering while still possessing a distinct presence of their own. Consider the line a subtler gateway into the mischievous world of BTSO.

100ml bottles retail for P13,750.
