As the weekend came to a bittersweet close, the folks over at San Juan, La Union, trooped to the beach for BEEP!'s second Soul Surf festival. It was a day filled with sun, surfing, and sunnies at the beach: weekenders either donned their rash guards or sunbathed in anticipation of the night's festival acts.

After a day at the beach, the folks at Soul Surf gathered in front of the stage for a relatively more relaxed vibe in what resembled a campfire huddle.

Local act Sinyma immersing the audience in a glorious mix of house, garage, and techno. As Sinyma starts their set, a sudden downpour of rain starts and prompts the crowd to rush towards the front of the stage to take refuge; to which Sinyma frontwoman Jess Connelly quips, "It's kind of funny that it rained just as I started singing!"

But as the rain showed no sign of stopping, the organizers opted to move the set to Kahuna's Bar where everyone collectively refused to let a little (or perhaps in this case, a lot) of rain ruin the night:

 Dr. Werewolf navigates the shift from a large-scale set outdoors to a cozy yet still insanely energetic one in Kahuna.

DJ Nix Damn P playing crowd favorites from 90s nostalgia to Hotdog's "Manila"

As the beats progressed, the question on everyone's minds remained, "What becomes of Dishwalla's set?" Much to the crowd's relief and excitement, the organizers announced that the award-winning rock band has agreed to stay in Manila for the week affording folks who journeyed all the way to La Union a chance to catch them live.
