Let’s face it, Zendaya can do no wrong on the red carpet. Last weekend the 25-year-old actress attended the prestigious Venice Film Festival to promote the film Dune alongside the internet’s favorite heartthrob Timothée Chalamet. The sci-fi flick was directed by Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049) and will be his take on the classic American novel by Frank Herbert.
The young actress plays Chani, a resident of the planet Arrakis, and is said to be the main love interest of Paul Atreides played by Timothée in the soon-to-be film franchise. The pair-up could not be a more stylish one as both actors have quite a distinct and innovative sense of style. Since the Venice Film Festival is one of the very few red carpet events this year with an actual audience, Zendaya made sure to wow the crowd with jaw-dropping outfits prepared by stylist Law Roach.
One look that stood out was her nude leather dress for the premiere of Dune. The construction and draping of the frock gave off the illusion of wet fabric on the skin, begging people to wonder how it was made. According to the official Instagram of Balmain, the bodice was draped over a mold of Zendaya’s actual torso that allowed Creative Director Olivier Rousteing to sculpt the leather perfectly against the actress’ physique.
A gathered waist then created some curves and opened into a hip-high slit for more skin, which worked well for her svelte stature. The actress went for a pair of matching nude stilettos to finish off the look seamlessly.
But the star of her outfit was the Bulgari Magnifica Hypnotic Emerald necklace that sat beautifully over her collarbones. The opulent design features the brand’s iconic snake motif (much like their iconic Serpenti choker)—but this time it clasps a beautiful and blinding 93.83 carat emerald.
The piece is adorned with diamonds and emerald cabochons to create this fluid color pattern. The necklace alone took 1800 hours to create because of the intricate setting and to ensure a comfortable fit. To complete her accessories, the actress added a set of diamond earrings and a High Jewelry emerald ring also from Bulgari.
Safe to say that this red carpet look is out of this world.
