In just a number of hours, the long wait will finally be over as H&M Philippines opens its doors to the public with the grand launch of its flagship store at the Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall. You’ve probably started your countdown the moment you saw that big timer set up outside the mall, and we wouldn’t be surprised to find out if you’ve already made a checklist of things to buy. The only thing standing in between you and your purchases are the others who have planned out a similar strategy when it comes to sourcing the racks.
To be quite honest, it’s very easy to get lost in the 3000-square-meter shopping space that offers a vast variety of everything from apparel to accessories. If you could picture a thousand guests rummaging through the racks, just imagine the chaos of having more people flocking to the scene come opening day. Our patience was tested as we tried to score the best buys, but somehow we found a way to navigate through the store with a little insider help from our friends at H&M. So if you’re planning to brave the crowd this Friday, read up on these insider tips and map out your way through the store as if you’ve been there before.
TIP #1: From what we have noticed, most sections are color coded so it’s easier to navigate once you know what you’re looking for. Searching for chunky knits in blacks and whites? Head to the first floor and go straight to the side nearest the mall entrance. Feeling a bit laid-back? Make your way up to the second floor where the denim pieces reign supreme.
TIP #2: Looking for up-to-date trendy pieces? The mid-section of the first floor houses one of a kind pieces from the H&M Studio line that come at very reasonable prices. The ladies' Trend and Everyday concepts can also be found on this floor (which also has a great selection of office wear near the escalators) along with the shoes and lingerie.
TIP #3: If it's active wear that you’re looking for, rush straight up the escalators and find yourself at the sportswear section, which offers a variety of hoodies, printed leggings, and sports bras. The concept of the floor is "Divided" that caters to the younger market.
TIP #4: If you’re shopping for your bro/boo/dad/best guy bud or if you simply feel like stealing something from the boys, the top most floor is where you’ll find the best goodies for the male homies. Also on the third level are stylish treats for the tiniest of toddlers (just in case you’re buying for some kids.)
TIP #5: Can’t be bothered to wait in line at the fitting rooms? Don’t sweat it! The store runs a 30-day refund and exchange policy for items purchased at the store. This way you can try on your buys at home and if you still find that it doesn’t fit you well, you can easily bring them back to the store to have them exchanged or you can even get all your money back. This covers apparel, shoes, and belts but does not include accessories, underwear, and swimwear.
Now that we have all of these things covered we hope you get to make the most out of your trip to the store. Happy shopping!
