Imagine a capsule collection with all the coolest pieces from every decade.
Topshop's new-old Archive Collection finds inspiration from past campaigns, their in-house archives, and even vintage stores, the same way that designers like Raf Simons or Alexander Wang look at the old collections of Christian Dior and Balenciaga.
The British brand’s creative director, Kate Phelan, believes that “To look forward and to look back is what fashion is all about. It’s a mix of everything and being adventurous.”
Expect ‘80s-inspired acid-washed denim, a pink dress reminiscent of Molly Ringwald, and a double-breasted blazer that you could work from day to night. Co-ords, skinny jeans, and a slinky grey dress give off a ‘90s Kate Moss vibe. And of course, the ‘60s and ‘70s are relived through fun prints, bell bottoms, and color, color, color! All blended and reinvented for the modern Topshop Girl. And apparently, she is extremely cool in an IDGAF kind of way.
