Almost 20 years since the hit K-drama aired, the actress gifted fans with the ultimate throwback.

So when Yoon Eun Hye, the actress who played the unforgettable Shin Chae-kyung, recently posted a set of photos recreating her character’s look almost 20 years later, the internet understandably lost it.

In a post simply captioned, “Summoning Shin Chae Kyung,” Eun Hye brought the fictional crown princess back to life with a cheeky twist. Her throwback ensemble? A spot-on recreation of Chae-kyung’s iconic school uniform, with a few playful updates.
She wore a navy blazer layered over a crisp white button-down and red tie, paired with a classic red plaid skirt and black track pants—yes, that memorable combo. Her signature red-rimmed glasses made a triumphant return, along with twin pigtails and a stuffed bear dressed in a mini-me version of her outfit. Even the pink heart emoji in her mirror selfie screamed early 2000s flip phone energy.

For fans, the attention to detail was more than just a cute moment. It was a full-circle fashion revival. Yoon Eun Hye even brought out a toy flip phone—complete with deco stickers—for the selfies, embodying the same spirited, awkward charm that made her character so lovable back in 2006.

Originally aired on MBC, Princess Hours was set in an alternate universe where South Korea is still ruled by a monarchy. The story followed Shin Chae-kyung, an ordinary high school student who suddenly finds herself betrothed to the cold and brooding Crown Prince Lee Shin (played by Ju Ji Hoon) due to a pact made by their grandfathers. The series was a cultural phenomenon, praised for its fashion-forward styling, palace drama, and undeniable chemistry between the leads. In the Philippines, it aired on ABS-CBN and quickly became a primetime favorite.
