Work Wear Diaries: Stephanie Kienle Stephanie Kienle’s work wardrobe varies from flirty feminine to elegantly sophisticated.

Style Bible caught up with one of Manila’s young and fashionable, Stephanie Kienle, who graciously talked us through her interesting work wardrobe.

“Be practical as well as stylish,” she asserts, having learned this from her career in the furniture industry. One day you’ll find her in faded jeans, the next in a svelte designer silhouette, depending on the day’s whereabouts. But whether she’s running around the factory or meeting up with clients in a posh restaurant, Stephanie always manages to look classy and chic, never in a work wear rut.

What exactly do you do?

I am currently Marketing Manager of Philux Inc., a family business that has been in the furniture industry for over 30 years now. We specialize in solid wood manufacturing and have several retail outlets around Metro Manila.

How did you get into this career path? Is this something you've always wanted?

My parents started Philux in the ‘80s so I was practically born into the furniture industry. As a child I would accompany them to the factory, tag along during showroom visits and was exposed to the day-to-day tasks that revolved around Philux. I further developed my passion for interiors and furniture design during my expatriate days in NYC and Paris because of all the inspiration these cities can bring. Since then, I have merged my knack for marketing and my love for design and turned it into my career path with Philux. I am very happy to have had this opportunity and I feel like every day is a work in progress in our company.

What's your daily routine/schedule like?

I usually spend mornings in our factory to oversee the production of our latest designs. After lunch I do my rounds and visit our showrooms (SM North EDSA, SM Megamall, Power Plant Mall and Alabang Town Center). I schedule meetings or shoots around these visits. I also spend afternoons looking at potential projects we have tie ups with such as residential model units.
