Work Wear Diaries: Cristalle Henares Heiress to the fastest-growing beauty line in the country, Cristalle gives you her two cents on dressing up from work to cocktails.

Perhaps, we can almost always attach the word “beauty” to Belo and the famous cosmetic surgeon to the stars who is behind it, Dra. Vicki Belo. However, her heiress is beginning to have her fair share of the limelight. Coming from a family of diverse fields (medicine, arts and film), it makes perfect sense that this lady has gotten what it takes to be where she is now and beyond. It’s in the genes.

Cristalle Belo Henares is certainly her own person. Cristalle is the brainchild behind Intelligent Skin Care, Inc, an arm of the burgeoning empire of the Belo Medical Group. With her line of work, one may think she’s all superficial. She’s anything but. Cristalle’s inner beauty resonates. Looking at her, you’ll immediately appreciate what she’s made of: a golden heart (as cheesy as it may sound). Odds-on, Cristalle will be the first to tell you that “beauty is only skin-deep.”

What exactly do you do?

Managing Director of Intelligent Skin Care, Inc.  We handle the consumer products of Belo, such as Belo Essentials, Belo Nutraceuticals and our latest is Belo Men.

How did you get into this career path? Is this something you've always wanted?

I've always enjoyed the process of creation.  When I was a kid, I would use my art and craft skills to create necklaces and sell them to my grandmother and her fellow mahjong friends!  I would also arrange my room, as if it were a store, and give my friends play money to pretend they're purchasing something.  I would issue receipts and tally everything they bought. Looking back, I would categorize those activities as merchandising, accounting and marketing.

My dad advised me to take Business Management in college because whether I become a teacher, an interior designer, a cook or an architect, I could always fall back on my business background to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

What's your daily routine/schedule like?

I sleep around 12 midnight and get up at 7:30am to make sure I'm in the gym by 8am!  If it's not a gym day, I usually have meetings set at 8:30am. I intentionally make it that way so I'm forced to get my ass out of bed and be productive.  My days are spent in the Intelligent Skin Care, Inc. or Belo Medical Group offices and I usually have meetings in various places.  I sneak in my trade visits (visit to supermarkets, groceries and drugstores) whenever I can.  At night, I go to school.  My MBA class has a set schedule of 6-9pm classes scattered throughout the quarter (and sometimes even weekend classes) so my social and travel life revolves around that.
