It’s heart-warming to know that there are still a lot of private citizens and companies who haven’t stopped taking the extra mile to help the victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda pick up the pieces, and slowly rebuild their lives. Home-grown brand, Aranaz, is one of them.
Owner Amina Aranaz-Alunan decided to launch Aranaz Luz to raise funds for the weavers in Samar, one of the badly hit areas. For two decades, the company has worked with weavers from different parts of the country with a good number coming from Samar. When Yolanda hit, many of them have lost their homes and source of livelihood.
The first edition of Aranaz Luz is the With Love bag made of fine abaca handcrafted by the Bicol weavers. The bag retails for P2500 and for every purchase, you actually help both the Bicol and Samar weavers. So for those doing last-minute Christmas shopping, this would make for a perfect gift.
Visit the Aranaz boutiques in Greenbelt 5 and Power Plant Mall. The bag may also be purchased through www.aranaz.ph.
