Trust us, you can be chic without upstaging the bride.

Summer weddings are just so special. You can have the wedding or reception outdoors without worrying about the rain that may ruin the day, all whilst managing to incorporate summer activities for your family and friends. But when you're a guest attending, you face a tricky dilemma: what to wear! Apart from minding the couple's specific attire requests, you also have to consider the venue and time of the event. Well, fret not because we're here to help. We've got five easy fail-proof looks for you when attending a summer wedding.

Look 1: Beach

Avoid wearing floor-length gowns and heavy fabrics. Opt for tea-length or midi dresses in lightweight textiles. Skip the heels, too, and slip on slides instead!

Look 2: Garden

Don't be afraid to wear the expected: floral prints. But don't go for the cliche palette of pastel hues. You can go a bit darker provided your florals are in bold and bright colors. Slip on block heels instead of stilettos. You don't want to sink into the soil, do you?

Look 3: Indoors

You have a little more freedom when it comes to an indoor setting. Go for that column dress with a little flounce, and don't forget to wear a belt to accent your figure. Plus points if you choose a light colored dress to stave off the summer heat.

Look 4: Morning

Morning ceremonies are expected to have a brunch reception, an unpleasant time to be outside as the temperature is at its highest. So don't be scared to go for a two-piece ensemble. If you're wary of wearing a sleeveless top, opt for a blouse that has loose sleeves.

Look 5: Evening

Evening affairs call for more elegant attire, but summer nights can feel too humid so keep the hems short and the sleeves loose.
