What To Bring To Fashion Week

These are the only things you will need in this fashionable bi-annual event.
What To Bring To Fashion Week These are the only things you will need in this fashionable bi-annual event.

Philippines Fashion Week is changing for the better (read our report on this), which means some of the items (a.k.a the staple sunnies) are now off our list of essentials. We’re only a few days shy from the much-awaited fashion extravaganza and if you’re planning to attend we suggest you start preparing your survival kit as early as now. Think of  getting ready for fashion week as prepping for a battle. Things can get pretty intense with a lot of pushing, seat-stealing, signal searching, tummies grumbling, and a lot of other things involved, all while in your five-inch heels. Our advice, as always, is that it’s best to be ready for anything. If you want a flawless experience, then scroll down to see a few of the items we cannot, at all costs, go to fashion week without.

POWER BANK

A cellular phone with 3G of course is already a given which also means that your battery will probably be empty before the day ends. When deciding which purse to bring, make sure that it's one that will allow you to bring this amazing technological invention that has been saving our lives daily.

WI-FI

Heads up folks, the signal at SMX is pretty poor. With the number of bloggers, editors, and attendees all scouring for a bit of 3G, the competition can get tough. So if you're hoping to be able to post on social media your #PhFW experience, then we suggest you bring your own wi-fi.

A STAND-OUT CLUTCH

This year, all the shows will take place in the evening which means you can finally let go of the big tote. Now that bringing a tiny clutch (that would still fit your other essentials) is acceptable, go ahead and go all out by choosing your quirkiest, most photogenic purse that is worth flaunting.

LIPSTICK

You cannot bring your entire beauty kit to fashion week, but trust us when we say a tube of lipstick is more than enough. It will instantly give you that pop of color, it won't occupy too much space in your clutch, and all it takes to make you look fierce again is just a swipe or two.

OIL-BLOTTING PAPER

Just because all the shows are in the evening now doesn't mean you T-zone won't get a chance to shine. Don't allow this to happen by making room for a pack of oil control film.

ADHESIVE BANDAGE

Bring a band-aid just because you will never know when that high-heels of yours will hurt you. Bringing two strips is so easy, you won't even know they're there.

PERFUME

A woman is more confident when she knows that even after a tiring string of events (or in this case, shows) she still smells fresh. There are a lot of tiny bottled ones like this super adorable miniature Festive Cocktail Eau de Parfum from Estée Lauder that you can easily stash in your purse.

SWEETS

We've said it before, the sugar rush we get from candy and chocolate is what keeps us going at fashion week. You can't eat like a man in an outfit you spent weeks, days, or even hours planning, plus there really is no time to rush out in between shows so your best bet are these treats. Oh, and don't forget to throw in some mints there as well.

H2O

Hydrate! Bring a small bottle of water because not only will you get thirsty for more fashion during shows, your mouth will also literally go dry with all that candy or chocolate you have stashed in your purse.

WALLET

If you've read the article we mentioned earlier, then you would know that the items you see on the runway can immediately be in your hands right after the show. Now more than ever, bringing your wallet is of utmost importance if you want to get the piece you will fall most in love with the most.

Now that we've covered the essentials, Fashion Week newbies can read our guide in here.
