We’re all for music festivals—great music, great company, and the chill outdoor setting. (We even fly just to get a taste of the experience—check out our trip to Laneway Festival.)
This year, Karpos Multimedia brought us Wanderland Music Festival, the first in the country featuring indie rock and pop bands from all over. Wanderland is also the first concert to be held in the newly-opened Circuit Makati’s concert grounds.
There were a total of 11 bands that performed in the span of around 11 hours. Homegrown talents Pulso, Taken by Cars, She’s Only Sixteen, Yolanda Moon, and Up Dharma Down took the stage along with international acts like Tully on Tully, Avalanche City, Colour Coding, Nada Surf, Neon Trees, and of course, The Temper Trap. It was such an exhilarating experience to see (and hear!) multiple bands play in one spacious outdoor venue, and in Manila at that.
And it didn't stop with just the music: With live art, installations, inflatable slides, and Velcro walls (which Nada Surf front man Matthew Caws wanted to try) peppered all over the location, there was no way for you to get bored at all.
Wanderland Music Festival 2013 was a great start and we can’t wait for next year’s lineup. Two Door Cinema Club, please?
