After only four years since its establishment on Jupiter Street, Vintage Restore opens a second branch in Quezon City to be able to cater to the bag lovers of the northern part of Metro manila.
We talk to owner, Lally Dizon, on what made them decide to make another home in this part of the city. Read on!
What made you decide to open another branch?
We felt that we needed to expand already because our market is getting bigger and growing so fast. A lot of people were also asking when we can open another branch since it can be a hassle for some people who live in the northern part of Metro Manila to go all the way to Makati. At the same time, the space constraint in our Bel-air shop calls for another branch because there’s really an overflow of bags for repair that we receive there on a daily basis so branching out is really the next step to go.
Why in that area?
White Plains is the perfect area because its location targets so many places, not just Quezon City but also Greenhills, Pasig, Marikina and Mandaluyong areas. At the same time, it’s so close to my home and the schools where my sons go to so you will see more of me there too!
What are the products and services that you offer?
Vintage Restore White Plains still has the same products and services that the Jupiter branch offers. The one-stop bag shop concept still stands: create—Made-to-order of bags and belts; fix—repair and restoration of bags, specializing in luxury designer leathergoods; shop—retail of Lally Dizon’s original bag and belt designs, and the additional line of vintage jewelry called Treasure Trove by my sister, Trisha Cuason.
Describe your relationship with bags.
It has been an exciting journey for me as a bag designer. I started designing for other international brands during our export days for over 10 years, doing a lot of conceptualizing and product development with foreign buyers. But my dream of having my own bag line only became a reality when we opened Vintage Restore four years ago. I know that I still have a lot to achieve and it takes a lot of hard work, creativity and commitment to be able to make a mark in our very competitive fashion industry. We always have to evolve and designing is a never ending process of learning, research, creating, and a lot of trial and error. But it’s all good as it’s all part of my relationship with bags.
