Being the one tasked to wear the Fantasy Bra is perhaps the highest honor for a Victoria's Secret Angel. And this year, that lucky soul is Brazilian model Lais Ribeiro, an Angel since 2015. The brand announced the news on their social media page yesterday, along with a first look of the bra itself.
For the 2017 VS Fashion Show in Shanghai, Lais will be wearing this $2 million piece by Swiss company Mouawad Jewelry. According to the Daily Mail, the Champagne Nights bra is handset with over 6,000 gemstones such as diamonds, yellow sapphires, and blue topaz. The jewelers also used 18 karat gold for the metal, and the entire the piece took a total of 350 hours to make.
"You just feel so powerful wearing it—like all the hard work has paid off," Lais tells Vogue. The model was apparently told that she'd be wearing the bra during fittings for the show. "I had no idea that [the fitting] was for the bra. I came in and when I tried it, I cried, it was unbelievable."
Complimenting the bra's design, the model says, "Personally, I love the colors on my skin tone and the big stones!" The gold leaf and sapphires definitely look stunning against her golden skin—no doubt about that.
