In case you missed the news over the weekend, local influencer Vern Enciso is officially a married woman! She tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Ben Lim during a gorgeous wedding ceremony held at Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa in Cebu on Saturday, January 30, and everything looked absolutely breathtaking!
Their intimate wedding, styled by Gideon Hermosa, was a sight to behold—but what further captured our attention was Vern's modern yet classic bridal look: a belted tailored jacket and a tea-length ball skirt puffed to perfection.
Looks familiar? Well, if you're a huge fan of Sex and the City, then you can probably already tell what or who the bride's fashion inspiration was. Yup, you guessed it—it's none other than Carrie Bradshaw, the iconic fictional character played by Sarah Jessica Parker, who also happens to be Vern's very own style icon.
In the 2008 Sex and the City movie, Carrie Bradshaw said "I do" clad in a white vintage dress at a courtroom ceremony in New York City Hall. Drawing inspiration from the stylish TV character, Vern enlisted the help of fashion designer Mark Bumgarner to recreate the look for her own wedding with a few additional tweaks that make it her own. And in just two weeks, Vern's dream wedding dress was ready for her walk down the aisle. Mark says of her bridal outfit, "Vern is wearing a custom #markbumgarner tailored jacket and signature clover skirt. I made this look and was sent to Cebu in less than [two] weeks."
Completing her SATC-inspired look, the bride definitely went all out and also copped Carrie Bradshaw's exact wedding shoes: a pair of Manolo Blahnik's Hangisi embellished satin pumps in cobalt blue. "Wore my dream wedding shoes. Carrie Bradshaw outfit [came] to life," Vern wrote in her Instagram Story.
Her sister Verniece Enciso, who took over the bride's IG account during the wedding, summed up everything perfectly: "Vern's wedding dress was inspired by her style icon Carrie Bradshaw and just like the movie, she got her fairytale ending. Ever mine. Ever thine. Ever ours."
