Filipina Designer Veejay Floresca Will Be Competing on "Project Runway"

A bigger global fashion scene is about to meet the creative power of a designer from the Philippines, with Veejay Floresca competing in the 21st season of Project Runway.

In the reality competition show, fashion designers go head-to-head in executing innovative designs in line with an array of thematic and material challenges, all within a short amount of time. As revealed on June 11, 2025, Veejay will be showcasing her fresh takes on different concepts alongside 11 other contestants, including Project Runway alums Caycee Black and Jesus Estrada, and RuPaul’s Drag Race former contestant Ultica Queen.

Veejay is considered an alum herself, having competed in the first season of Project Runway Philippines back in 2008, where she powered through to the finale and finished third. Having a clear vision for her career early on, Veejay graduated with a degree in fashion design and merchandising from the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. 

Now a fashion designer of her namesake brand based in New York, Veejay has been demonstrating her sharp skills through edgy, structured, and versatile creations. She expressed through the shop’s website that they “believe that fashion should be personal, inclusive, and kind to the planet.” With that, their specialization in custom bespoke clothing is rooted in a blend of “refined craftsmanship with a deep commitment to sustainability.”

These values continue to be reflected in her other brand, Veejay Floresca Bridal. Aside from being sustainable, it's also size-inclusive. She manifests this sincerity by charging no extra fees for all customizations because “each bride is uniquely different and beautiful, and we want to celebrate that.”

Given Veejay’s penchant for embracing timeless style and marrying it with  individuality, her take on the show’s upcoming challenges will be one to watch out for. She is described by E! News as a “fiercely competitive and unapologetic personality along with her aesthetic that combines modernity, wearability, and art,” and hopefully, the show’s respected judges, Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, and Law Roach, will think the same.

Project Runway Season 21 will be streaming on Disney+ on July 31, 2025.
