Before her show, Vania Romoff Instagrammed a photo from her mood board: a still from the Australian mystery movie Picnic at Hanging Rock. The film revolves around the disappearance of several schoolgirls and their teacher on St. Valentine's Day in a place much like the Hamptons. The Cebuana designer interpreted this as dresses printed with moody flora, in muted fabrics that evoked lightness and chic simplicity. Always one to celebrate femininity, she sent out lace dresses, ovoid off shoulders, and paperbag trousers, paired with sandals, boater hats, and pre-Raphaelite fishtails—a paragon of how to be dressed down but dressed well.
Fishtails, hats, and florals defined the inspiration.
Frocks dressed down with chic sandals.
Not your usual shoulder-baring frock, feminine sans the frill.
