Some say that New York’s Costume Institute Gala is the equivalent of the Oscars on the East Coast. Doesn’t every fashionista look out for what the powers that be and glamour gals wear on the red carpet of those iconic steps?
Valentino is certainly one of the labels we expect to see at the Anna Wintour-chaired affair and this year, three top stars came dressed in the designer’s ethereal, ultra-feminine creations. Young actresses Brit Marling and Lily Collins looked like a pair of 70s princesses, the frothy floral lace of their gowns overlaid upon floral silk taffeta.
Meanwhile, Sarah Jessica Parker arrived in a gown, which though lacking the sheer overlay was not lacking in opulent charm. The Sex and the City star anchored the sweet print with a pair of boldly gold bangles proving she’s still top dollar in our style books.
