Digital stars or “influencers” becoming the faces of major brands is definitely changing up the model casting game, especially after the recent release of lookbook previews from the upcoming Kenzo x H&M collab. And with Urban Outfitters and adidas launching their We the Future campaign, it proves that we definitely haven't seen the last of it either. The collection features several up-and-coming creatives who were selected to star in a sportswear lookbook, presenting new ways to wear adidas gear while celebrating the major diversity upgrades in fashion.
Some of the featured creatives include models like Ebonee Davis, Keisuke Asano, and Ralph Souffrant, designers Alexis Jay and Rewina Beshue, photographer Lumia Nocito, musician Miko Jasmine, and many more. UO interviewed all 19 creatives and talked about the responsibility that comes with having online influence, their measures of individual success, and the messages they wish to deliver to the world. Their answers and personal stories are testaments to how fashion and the entire creative industry are now being pushed towards a more inclusive and liberating route that empowers people to have a voice and use it to help each other thrive.
We the Future is not only a nod to trendy sportswear, it’s also UO and adidas’ way of telling the world that this generation is ready to build a new tomorrow. And we’re all for it.
