Japanese retailer Uniqlo is best known for their classic and practical pieces that won't break the bank. Shopaholics and Uniqlo regulars alike are probably feeling a little separation anxiety from the store amidst the quarantine—a peek at their latest white sneakers and canvas tote bag might help you out. In the meantime, while we patiently wait for the current state of the nation to improve and for establishments around the Metro to reopen, we bring some good news to lift your spirits in this dreary time: Uniqlo just pledged P10 Million to support the relief and response efforts for communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an announcement posted March 23 on Uniqlo's Facebook page, the popular fashion chain pledged P10 million "for food assistance and for the purchase of personal protective equipment." They noted that their donation would be going to the SM Foundation, which also made recent headlines for their efforts in funding assistance to combat the virus.

Here's to hoping that more companies and corporations will help with the crisis our nation is facing. And more importantly, here's to hoping the government will be able to allocate its funds and resources properly in order to quell the pandemic, especially with the President now granted with "emergency powers."
