It’s exciting when a talented bright young thing surfaces. It’s even better when a whole bunch of bright young things gather and forge a path of their own.
This was the general feeling at UNBOUND—the graduation runway show for the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde Fashion Design and Merchandising Students—last April 25, 2015. The show was at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, a clean gallery space that served as a backdrop for the 78 designers that showcased their 3-look collections. Each of the three segments showed versatility and talent in RTW, luxewear and couture.

Few might have been overdesigned (bordering into an explosion of store bought sequined embellishments, and questionable design and construction), but many were inspired. From stark white sportif luxewear to custom printed evening wear (with a to-die-for color story), and even delicately draped lace and tulle, UNBOUND gave us a peek into the future of fashion - it is in talented good hands.
