Twitter users got to watch Sunday's Pacquiao-Mayweather fight for free - to the disappointment of the show's TV distributors, HBO and Showtime.
While the networks charged $100 per view, Twitter users used Periscope, a new live-streaming app, to watch it for free.
After its official release on the iOS Twitter app, it has seen more than 1 million users sign in, while Meerkat, another independent live streaming app, saw double the drop.
With its anticipated release on Android devices, as well as the option for web users to comment on the livestream, who knows what bouts of piracy it might enable? Covering fashion shows from the front row doesn't count, right?
