Trendspotting: Chanel Espadrilles Have you heard? This new It shoe involves no heels.

When we hear the word Chanel, most often than not, the first thing that comes to mind are their iconic bags. And as far as that goes, we’ve already schooled you on everything you need to know about the classic 2.55. But still, we’d like to extend this Chanel discussion in line with Karl Lagerfeld’s birthday and move on to this French label’s other work of art that’s currently making waves in the local and international fashion scene. Ladies and gents, we’re talking about one of today’s most coveted pair of flats—the Chanel espadrilles.

Chanel first joined in on the jute party and released their espadrille collection for Spring/Summer 2013. Retailing for at least USD 450 depending on the style and material, the Chanel espadrilles are available in canvas, mesh, lace-up, and leather. That might seem like a hefty price for a pair of flats, but with those elusive interlocking Cs showing up on its capped toes, you’re already pretty much assured that it’s going to be worth your every dime.

On that note, why don’t you click on the gallery and see who’s wearing the new It shoes?
