Music lovers and friends alike from all over Asia, a huge chunk probably from Manila because we defintely spotted a number of familiar faces, traveled to Singapore to catch one mean music event--St. Jerome's Laneway Festival, dedicated to bringing together different bands set in boutique locations for different people to discover. Think of it as a get-together with friends over music and drinks; very laidback.
It's the closest thing this region's got to California's Coachella and Glastonbury in England. The style of festival goers has become something to watch in recent years. For example, in sunny L.A., you'll catch the crowd in sandals, armed with hats and umbrellas to shield them from the summer sun. In Glasto, on the otherhand, Wellies are the uniform to wade through the mud caused by the rains of that season. Singapore is a cross between the two, hot summer sun one minute and the next you start feeling the rain drops.
It all comes down to wearing something comfortable for the tropical weather but still looking good. The fool-proof formula appeared to be boots and denim cut offs worn with an oversized tank or a cropped top. We've put together a couple of photos to clue you in on what some of the people wore to the festival, click on the photo gallery to check it out!
You can even post your look on My Style if you were at Laneway too, we'd love to see what you wore!
