It's getting really hot in here, and that might mean an excuse to revamp your workwear wardrobe for the coming sun season. Take every chance you get! Below, we list down five wearable trends straight from the Spring/Summer 2018 runways you can strut to your desk in.
1. Ice cream pastels
Gelato, anyone? Spring/Summer's got a sweet tooth, and it's craving for pastels in every shade! As per Liz Uy, an appropriate, oh-so-current way to don the look is by picking out a suit the color of cotton candy. We're getting a) a sugar rush and b) down to business.
2. The updated pencil skirt
The update is in the styling, actually. This means you can grab your trusty ol' pencil skirt, but instead of the usual pumps or loafers, pair them with some cute little kitten heels (and socks, if you can get away with it!).
3. Structured denim
2017's ripped, patched, experimentally raw denims are slowly being replaced by sleeker architechtural options in washes that lean more towards navy than baby blue. Polished, tailored jean jackets and pants are taking over, and you can definitely wear them to casual Fridays.
4. The lightweight trench coat
Consider this your new go-to office coverup (your blazer can take a break!). Layer it over roomy trousers like Chriselle Lim, or wear over your favorite shirtdress for a new spin on a dependable frock. Holly Golightly would be proud.
5. Primary color blocking
If head-to-toe brights are a bit too much for you, feel free to wear the rainbow one hue at a time. Choose a pop in bold red, blue, or yellow...or, you know, bite the bullet and wear all three at once. How we like to do it: wear one color on your clothes, then the other two as accessories.
