Eight years ago, a striking structure along C5 that charmed the attention of everyone with its refreshing concept built with an equally invigorating open-air construction grew to be a weekend destination for the whole family. Tiendesitas or "Tiende" as we have learned to call it, thrived by offering us a place where we can spend time with our family, eat, walk our dogs, and shop for antique pieces, clothing, pets, pet products, and random merchandise all in one place. This year, Ortigas & Co., the brains behind the lifestyle development who also introduced us to the Greenhills Shopping Center decades ago, decided to give the Tiendesitas we all know and love an overhaul.
The Stockroom was one of the new stores that caught the Style Bible girls' attention with their quirky products.
To keep up with the ever-changing climate and growing number of visitors, the management has decided to add wider aisles, a new floor, two new "villages," elevators, escalators, more parking slots, and yes, air-conditioning to the new and improved Tiende.
Check out Cafe Avelino's at the upper floor of the new building.
The modernized building infront of SM Hypermart still retained the signature Maranao architectural elements of their structures, and is the first of three buildings to rise between 2013 and 2016. Reopening just in time for the holidays, expect a new food and shopping area packed with more retailers, cafes, and restaurants to greet you. Don't let the ongoing construction deceive you though, because some of your go-to pet, entertainment, general merchandise, handicraft, fashion, antique, and novelty stores are still open around the construction while the rest will be up and running in no time.
Looking for a place to go Christmas shopping? Pay Tiende a visit because we assure you, if you loved the old place, the bigger and better version will please you even more.
