After Style Bible's sampling of all the lovely dishes at the Noma pop-up in Tokyo, we got to wondering: what took the place of the number one restaurant in the world, while Chef René Redzepi and his cohorts were away?
The answer is: a fashion boutique.
Club Monaco, a pared down clothing brand owned by the Ralph Lauren Corporation, took over the washed-out dining halls of the Noma Restaurant in Copenhagen, making it the first boutique inside a two-star Michelin restaurant.
Open till March 13, it offers the label's men's and women's collections alongside vintage items, coffee from Sweden's Kopi Kaffe, books from New York's Strand bookstore and a wine bar by Ved Straten 10 in Copenhagen.
It's a great peg for lifestyle stores that are trying to bring a well-rounded mix into a curated space. Think Univers, with a coffee cart.
Here's to hoping SSI, which has brought Ralph Lauren to our shores, will think of bringing in Club Monaco next. Fingers and toes crossed.
