There's nothing a Miss Universe can't do." Pia Wurtzbach tells us as she trekked the hilly side of La Mesa Eco Park. All smiles and never not cheery, Pia tried her best to put on her most villainous face for her second Preview cover. Though she's never seen an episode of Game of Thrones, the beauty queen intently listened to our EIC Isha Valles as the latter happily filled her in with some show details while in the makeup chair.
"In my head I just kept asking, what would Cersei wear," Preview Fashion Assistant Ning Nuñez quipped as we got Pia dressed for her first layout. And despite the unpleasant weather—it was raining the whole day—Pia never showed signs of displeasure. "Is this how Cersei would do it?" she asked us amused as she tilted her chin up and intensified her gaze. Yes, most definitely.

Pia arrived bare-faced and didn't mind us snapping photos right away.

Pia made no complaints about makeup artist Gery Penaso "erasing" her brows for a stronger and devilish smokey eye.

We pulled out gold and black armor from designer Jun Jun Ablaza just for the shoot.

We shot by the hillside of the Eco Park and the rain created this fog that made everything look like a British moor.

Fashion Director Daryl Chang is always hands on during our cover shoots and makes sure the clothes always look wrinkle- and frump-free on cam.

Creative Director Vince Uy asked Pia to sit by a murky pond, and the beauty queen did not complain at all.

Hair stylist Aries Manal created a brushed back and messy wet look for Pia that looked effortless since it was also raining the entire day.

In this shot, you'll see that Gery used a blonde-colored brow tint to veil Pia's brows.

These thigh-high SM Parisian boots were our footwear of choice no matter the terrain.

We borrowed a golden throne from Ballet Philippines just for the cover option layout. Around three people were required just to carry it to the actual shoot location.

We also had a studio setup option for tighter beauty shots. Luckily photographer Paolo Pineda is always prepared.
