I used to come from the school of thought that canvas trainers are best worn dirty. That sort of mentality was probably influenced by the boys of Simple Plan and Green Day and punk princess Avril Lavigne who loved their Chucks and Vans. And while today’s sneakers look too pretty to mess up, nothing feels more comfortable, still, than a pair that has a little bit of grit on them. Enter a Stockholm-based label Eytys and their latest collab with artist Sasha Kurmaz.
With works known for being political yet intimate, Kurmaz takes his love for graffiti and puts it on a (sneaker) canvas for all the world to see. With its wordy design, it takes us back to those days when having your classmates vandalize your kicks with a sharpie was called #art. (What great #inspo for this week’s #SBMoodBoard challenge!) The sneakers come in two styles (white high cuts and black low-cuts) and can be purchased at Hoodwink, SM Aura.
