In case you haven’t seen our invite, we are calling all you gorgeous people to join us for a weekend under the sun by the beach. The Soul Surf Festival is happening and it will be packed with good music, live art, and the best of the best in the country when it comes to surfing. Not enough to get you stoked? Well, there’s more. Aside from the main events, there will be beach sports, yoga sessions, calisthenics, a film showing, and a bunch of booth activities for you to check out. Trust us, you do not want to miss out on this three-day affair.
Today we gear you up for the awesome weekend about to take place with things you shouldn’t (at all costs) forget to bring. Scroll down to see our Soul Surf essentials.
If there was a uniform at events like Soul Surf, it would have to be a bikini. When packing, be sure to grab a couple pairs of swimwear before anything else! Black bandeau bikini top, Topshop; Teal triball print bikini bottoms, River Island
If you’ll be under the sun for three whole days, you better be sure you have enough protection. You will need lots and lots of sunblock: one for the face and one for the body. Gel 50 sunblock, Heliocare; Armada Face Cover 30, VMV Hypoallergenics
Speaking of being under the scorching heat, aside from making sure you’re hydrated, you will also need to protect your puckers so don’t forget to bring your trusty lip balm. Lip balm, Carmex
A beach ensemble will not be complete without a pair of sunnies. Just be mindful of your belongings because events like this can get pretty intense and you mind end up losing them in a sea of happy people. Flash aviators, Ray-Ban
A WHITE TEE
A plain white tee can go anywhere from the office (paired with a blazer) to the beach. Pack one or two of these, will you please? At Soul Surf, go ahead and pair it with high waist denim cut offs and a cute snapback. Sundaze graphic tee, Forever 21; Medium denim shorts, P1950, Mango; Roses pack snapback, Rita Ora for adidas
The only footwear you will need is a pair of flip-flops. The crazier, the better, so it's easier to spot in case an unfortunate event happens and you lose them in the sand. Women's Statement, Havaianas
If you don't want to sit directly on the sand while watching the surfers battle it out with the waves, arm yourself with a punchy beach blanket. We've expressed our love for the sand-proof Lagu countless times already, so pretty please, help save beaches by using them. Verde Lagu beach blanket
If you don't want to get toasted then don't be shy to bring an umbrella. Others may laugh but at least you know you did your part to prevent the sun from hurting you. Choose a print-happy that shows off your personality. Bow detail floral umbrella, Suiteblanco
You know us, we love adding a bit of drama to our outfits from time to time. If a kaftan is not up your alley, then maybe a fringe kimono paired with dainty crochet hem shorts can be the combo to sport with your bikini. Cream floral satin burnout fringed kimono, River Island; Strappy triangle bikini top, Topshop; White crochet hem shorts, Topshop
The harmful rays of the sun must not be underestimated. If you want that extra protection for your face and you don't really feel like bringing a not-so-handy umbrella, then you will need a floppy hat. Tasseled Straw Sun Hat, Forever 21
PRINT-HAPPY TANKThis is the perfect time to bring out those tanks with quirky, yummy, and eye-catching prints that will stand out in a sea of party people. Pineapple modal-blend top, P995, Mango
The tote bag is the right choice for the beach because not only is it acceptable to get them wet, it is also the bag that is spacious and light enough for you to carry around with all your essentials. Message bag, P695, Bershka
Trust us, after watching the surfers you will be inspired to give the totally awesome sport a try. Be prepared and reserve some space in your bag for a wetshirt and a pair of boardshorts.
See you there!
